Breast Augmenation FAQ’S
Can I choose the size of my new breasts?
Yes. Dr Chan will show you different types of implants and also different sizes of implants. These can be tried in special bras to give you an idea of what the breasts will look like. You can choose the size of the implant to suit your expectations. The final choice is yours but we will guide you in the right direction.
Is it a painful operation?
Yes, most patients will feel pain. This is worst in the first 2 days and quickly subsides. There is very little pain after 10 to 12 days.
Is it a dangerous operation?
No. The operation involves putting an implant behind the breast tissue or muscle and does not enter the chest.
Will I be able to breast feed after the operation?
Because the implants are put behind the breast tissue it does not interfere with the normal function of the breast such as breast feeding.
Is it true that I will need to have my implants changed every 10 years?
No. Most modern implants would last 20 or 30 years but there is variation between patients. Implants are only replaced if they have leaked.

The surgeon’s fee, the cost of the implants, the anaesthetic fee and the hospital fees.
